The Many Steps for Many Vets walk has come to a close
See below to read the statement from Brevard Veterans Memorial Center:
“On behalf of all of us at the Brevard County Veterans Memorial Center (VMC) I want to echo Jackie’s thanks and appreciation to all you have done or planned to do in support of Danny’s “Many Steps for Many Vets” 2016 Walk.
Sometimes no matter how great the effort and well intentioned the goals, events intercede and tough decisions must be made. After several days of facing unexpected challenges ranging from the terrorist attacks in areas Danny had recently walked, to major logistic and ongoing security and support problems, late on September 20 the joint decision between Danny and the VMC was made to terminate the program as Danny staged into the Washington, DC area.
The VMC appreciates the tremendous efforts and spiritual journey Danny Garcia has already accomplished in his mission since the 9/11 kick off at Ground Zero and knows he will continue to do great things for many causes. We are also pleased to have come together to support Danny to make the attempt since we could not know if we would regret not having tried it. We moved despite very short lead time and great difficulties in giving him full and proper support so far away from Merritt Island FL.
Please contact us if you have additional questions. Thanks, again to all of you, especially Danny for putting everything out there to make this work. Too many obstacles surfaced to make it prudent to press on.
regards,
Donn”
